On Christmas Eve my family went to see "Four Christmases." It was probably the first time in history that my brother and I wanted to see the same movie. He loves Vince Vaughn, I love Reese Witherspoon - perfect. So off we went. You've seen the commercials and know the premise, but I have to say - if you want to absolutely laugh your butt off - go see this movie. I laughed so hard people were actually shushing me. I couldn't help it (though the 3 martinis at dinner may have contributed...). My only gripe about the movie is that Vince Vaughn plays the same exact character in every single movies he is in, and by the end of each, I'm pretty much over it. Anywho... go see it. You can thank me later.

I told you I saw that right? It was cute...I have seen Reese in better. I did watch WEdding Crashers like we talked about and it was really funny. But you're right, Vince plays the same guy in every movie and watching him makes me tired. but at least he's funny.
Of course he plays he same character. It is a formula. People generally like the familiar. Those are the movies that people see. Why do you think every movie studio wants a franchise with sequels? It guarantees success, even if the sequels suck.
A comedy has a happy ending. All these movies have the same general plot lie with the same general characters and it is just a matter of which actor stars. They do this because the studios will make a movie that follows a formula that works. Experimental films are less likely to get made, which is why they are such a revelation when they occur, like Slumdog Millionaire.
And, Vince Vaughn's best role was in Swingers, which remains a classic flick.
hmmm...swingers. I'll have to put in my netflix queue.
